Marketing in Spirituality: Why it’s Not All it’s Cracked Up to Be

Spiritual MarketingEach day, our inboxes are flooded with offers and programs that are intended to “fix” our problems, to help us achieve more awareness, peace of mind, health, wealth, happiness, financial abundance, and to help us manifest our desires into reality by improving our manifestation process. And many of these programs truly are wonderful for SOME of the people who have used them. I know I have tried many different offers- some worked for me, and some didn’t. I’m sure you have had the very same experience.

I will say, however, that even when a program was not everything I hoped it would be, I always learned something that I could benefit from, even if it was later on down the road. But in terms of meeting my full expectations for success, there have been very few programs that I would say were a fantastic fit for me and gave me the full results that were promised.

And this of course isn’t to say that every program SHOULD meet every single expectation we hope for it to. In a perfect, ideal world this is appropriate, but in most cases, we are not having the perfect experience, or else we would not be looking for a program or offer that would solve our problems.

I think one of the things that is most overlooked about available programs and offers is that they are simply NOT going to be a perfect fit for everyone. It’s just not possible. And we have a tendency to get so excited in our search for a solution that we forget that this same program has also been potentially marketed to hundreds or even thousands of individuals around the world. And there’s nothing wrong with that. But just because we cross paths with it, doesn’t necessarily mean that it is the right one for us at that time in our lives, or even that it’s going to produce the desired results that it claims to.

Why? Because each one of us is having our own experience, completely unique in nature and completely our own.

I think what so many of us have forgotten is that the individualized experience we are having holds so much more value for us than a large program with lots of marketing and no personal interaction. Now, keep in mind, I’m not saying that this applies to every program out there and or to every person. As I said before, there is ALWAYS something valuable we can take away from anything we learn. But it’s just that I think many of us have gotten caught up in the marketing behind it all, and have forgotten that there is valuable learning behind our own individualized experiences, or else we would not be having them in the first place.

And how can those individualized, unique experiences fit into a “cookie-cutter” anything?

Also, you have to remember where these large-scale programs come from. They come from a desire both to share their work with the world in a larger way and to bring to those individuals who could not otherwise afford it by reducing the cost. The problem with this, however, is that the only way to reduce the cost is to create a program that is a “one size fits all” sort of thing.

Don’t get me wrong. I certainly have purchased some of these very programs I’m talking about, and I truly have nothing against them. In fact, I think it’s wonderful that some of these works are being shared with the world in such a big way, but I also know the value of individualized work tailored specifically to my needs, which may vary depending on the issue or problem I am dealing with.

Honestly, I think the best thing to do when considering some of these programs is to look past the marketing and to look as closely as possible at the content, all the while seriously considering whether or not the content will provide something meaningful that will help you achieve your intended goal or outcome. And when in doubt, remember that spiritual guidance from a higher perspective is ALWAYS available to you. This is a great example of something to ask your Spirit Guides or Higher Self if a program is a good fit for you!
