Spiritual Healing Effectiveness, Part 2

In my last post, I talked about some studies I found on the effectiveness of Spiritual Healing based on the outcome of those experiencing the healing and how it changed their lives for the better.

Another study I found, called Meditation, Prayer and Spiritual Healing: The Evidence, was conducted in 2005 by Marilyn Schlitz, PhD, the Vice President of Research at the Institute of Noetic Sciences and Senior Scientist at the Research Institute of the California Pacific Medical Center. She has published over 200 articles in the area of consciousness studies and has conducted research at Stanford University, taught at Trinity University, Stanford University, and Harvard Medical School, and served as a Congressionally appointed advisory member for the National Institutes of Health Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Perspectives across cultures, public health studies, and studies from NIH were reviewed. Most of the studies showed positive physiological changes and better outcomes in participants as a result of healing and compassionate intention sent to participants for cancer, wound healing, and AIDS. The improved outcomes of participants were directly correlated with both a higher level of education and stronger beliefs in spirituality.

The studies reviewed showed overwhelmingly positive results.

There are even studies dating back as early as 1911 and 1924 showing positive effects of Spiritual Healing on those who participated in it. That’s a really long time for Spiritual Healing to be around and studied for results, showing just how well it’s backed by scientific data. By far, the biggest indicators of success with spiritual healing modalities are belief systems rooted in spirituality and knowledge of spirituality. The better one’s understanding of spirituality is, when combined with their belief that it can heal the body, the more beneficial the results proved to be.

A great article on Huffington Post, called Spirituality, Healing and Science, reviewed surveys of nurses and physicians who predominantly used prayer in their work to help heal their patients and felt that concepts in spirituality should be taught as part of training.

There’s no doubt from researching that Spiritual Healing modalities such as Distance Energy Healing and Akashic Records Healing has a long track record of creating positive outcomes in those who have tried it, and having scientific studies to back it up only makes it a more viable option for healing.
